Funeral arrangements can be daunting, so consider choosing the following:
- Type of service: Traditional, memorial, celebration of life, or a combination.
- Location: From funeral home to somewhere meaningful.
- Officiant: Whether a Celebrant, Humanist, Family member, Friend, Priest or Minister
- Casket or urn: Casket or urn? Consider the deceased’s preferences.
- Obituary and death notice: Consider your self-written obituary; plus consider a notice in local newspapers or online.
- Order of Service: Schedule events, readings, music, and other tributes.
- Reception or gathering: Allows family and friends to unite, share memories, and support one another.
- Personalise the service: Incorporate personal touches to honour the life and memory of the deceased.
- Communicate with family and friends: Keep family members and close friends in the loop any updates.
- Take care of yourself: Look after yourself and seek support if needed during this difficult time.
