Bereavement can affect people in many different ways. Practical information, emotional support and specialist help are available from the organisations below.
Some services have particular opening hours or eligibility requirements. Please use the links provided to check their latest information.
Cruse Scotland
Cruse Scotland offers free bereavement support to adults, children and young people following the death of someone close.

Samaritans
Samaritans provides confidential emotional support at any time for anyone who is struggling to cope. You do not need to be experiencing suicidal thoughts to contact them.

NHS 24 and urgent help
For urgent health or mental-health advice in Scotland when your GP practice is closed, telephone NHS 24 on 111.
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, telephone 999 or go to the nearest Accident and Emergency department.

Breathing Space
Breathing Space is a free and confidential Scottish service for people aged 16 or over who are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed or unable to cope.
